Some say, if you’ve never failed, then you’ve never lived. Yet, fear of failure is ubiquitous in the human experience. Who among us hasn’t feared giving our all and it not being enough?
Whether in relationship with someone, in our jobs, or in pursuit of our dreams, when something doesn’t go according to our plans – we hit a roadblock, stumble, and fall – we are humbled. Sometimes, we are bruised.
But failing is not defeat. It is an opportunity.
Failing is actually progress, but only if you don’t give up.
When we fail, we are often forced to take a beat, whether we want to or not. No longer able to proceed “as is,” failure creates space to pause. Here is where we must set down our ego. Here is where we can take stock of what happened, and ask questions.
In this space, we have the freedom to rethink the moment or our journey. And when we’re ready, we can explore new strategies to achieve our goals, and new pathways to our dreams.
