Vice President of Sales & Revenue

About the position.
We’re looking for a multi-talented Vice President of Sales & Revenue to develop and lead the execution of sales strategy. Hurdle is a fast-growing, early-stage behavioral health startup, and in this position, you will roll up your sleeves to manage existing conversations,  fill our pipeline, drive revenue growth, and get things done. 

You will work closely with functions across the organization to meet the needs of customers and align our processes to maximize our investments in technology and throughout the organization. You will also conduct analyses of existing sales efforts and work with the CEO and advisors to improve them as needed to better meet our revenue goals. You will be in charge of enrolling our providers and/or organization in insurance plans and overseeing revenue cycle management. 

The Team.

This is a cross-functional role where you will be working with team members from Product, Operations, Marketing, Content and Clinical Operations to strengthen our sales pipeline and help us meet our goals. Your role will be to assume responsibility for our business development and sales.  The ideal candidate will be able to work autonomously to improve our processes and will be managing multiple projects and priorities at once. Also, given the cross-functional nature of the role, you will have excellent business acumen, organizational expertise, and interpersonal skills.

Role Responsibilities.

  • Develop a Sales strategy focusing on enterprise and payor sales growth and building a strong pipeline
  • Manage key customer relationships and participate in closing strategic opportunities
  • Set specific quarterly or annual sales goals; create a culture of success and ongoing business and goal achievement
  • Monitor customer, market and competitor activity to identify opportunities
  • Help grow and lead sales team to improve effectiveness and productivity of sales target


  • You have 10+ years of experience in a Sales role with demonstrated success selling a healthcare product to employers and insurers
  • You have an advanced understanding of the strategic sale and what is required to successfully sell complex clinical solutions
  • You have strong new business and sales development experience with the ability to maintain client accounts and a track record of success in prospecting.
  • Strong sense of urgency, with the drive and knowledge to navigate multi-level relationships with complex and fluid managed care customers
  • Deep understanding of needs based selling strategies and ability to uncover underlying customer objections and concerns
  • You are results driven and thrive when you are managing multiple projects at once
  • You are comfortable in a fast-paced, early-stage company work environment

Location: Preference for candidates located in Washington, DC or mid-Atlantic but not required. Once safe, frequent travel to DC will be expected for this position.
