Hurdle offers the only culturally intentional telemental health care designed for people of color and other minority groups. Hurdle empowers organizations to provide their employees/members with culturally informed mental health services, including digitally accessible self-mastery tools, wellness workshops, and teletherapy.  In this way, we support diverse populations who are underserved by traditional resources. We exist to ensure that individuals can show up whole, operate with joy, and live with power. 


About the position

Hurdle is looking for an engaging and creative Social Media Fellow to help build our growing startup’s online presence. This is an exciting paid opportunity to make a significant impact on our company’s success. This position is flexible and averages 15 hours per week. There is also an opportunity for this position to become a full-time role.

Responsibilities

  • Expand the company’s social reach across multiple social channels and incorporate thoughtful and well-reasoned plans for each channel.
  • Creative production: Write, produce, and publish to all relevant channels on a rapid-fire cadence—collaborating with designers or copywriters to provide attractive and informative campaigns
  • Community management: Engage with social followers to answer questions, prompt discussion, respond to feedback, and uphold the brand voice throughout the social community.
  • Influencer marketing: Communicate directly and manage contracts/payments with influencers and key stakeholders to drive awareness and growth on social channels.
  • Tracking: Define KPI’s and track the performance of all social campaigns

Qualifications

  • Excellent writing skills
  • Previous experience working with Instagram, Facebook, and other social media platforms
  • Examples of past work experience or relevant social media experience. Please send us any social handles for reference.
  • Design skills and familiarity with design tools are a plus but not required


Compensation

Fellows will be provided with a monthly stipend, as well as the opportunity to graduate into a full-time role. We are also happy to work with fellows on attaining academic credit. This opportunity is fully remote, but office space + weekly lunches will be provided to those electing to come to the DC office.
